What is the standard page limit for a thesis chapter in my department?

thesis-dissertation ▲ 1 1 views 2026-10-08

My guidelines say 40,000 words for the whole thesis and I am in a program that produces three separate 12,000-word monographs. My supervisor wants 15,000 for one chapter. How do I find out the real limit before I write 3,000 words too many?
