How to use the College Finder
Filter US colleges by your annual budget and state, then sort by either lowest cost or highest graduate earnings. The tool pulls live data from the College Scorecard covering 6,000+ institutions. Use the World Universities tab to search universities in any country — great for international students or those considering studying abroad.
In-state vs out-of-state tuition
Public universities charge 2–3x more for out-of-state students. A California resident pays ~$14,000/year at UC schools; out-of-state students pay ~$44,000. Always check residency requirements.
Net price vs sticker price
The listed cost is rarely what you pay. Most students receive grants and scholarships. Use each college's Net Price Calculator (required by law) to see your actual expected cost.
Studying abroad
Many European universities charge little or no tuition — even for international students. Germany, Norway, and France offer free or low-cost degrees. Check language requirements carefully.
