Should my thesis have a standalone literature review chapter or a woven one?
My template has a required 6,000-word literature review section, but a supervisor of mine argued that at doctoral level the review must be woven into each chapter's argument instead. Both arguments sound defensible and the committee does not care either way. Which structure survives an oral exam better?
