Is a two-week deadline enough for a literature review?

Yes, a two-week deadline is absolutely sufficient for a five-page literature review, provided you break the work into manageable daily tasks rather than attempting it in one marathon session. You do not need an overwhelming number of sources; typically, five to seven high-quality scholarly articles are enough to support a concise, focused review of this length. Since you are new to this format, prioritize finding peer-reviewed journals through your school’s library database to ensure academic credibility and simplify the citation process. To make this manageable, dedicate the first three days solely to searching and selecting your sources, then spend the next four days taking detailed notes and outlining your arguments. The remaining week should be reserved for drafting, revising, and formatting your citations. This structured approach prevents burnout and ensures you have ample time to refine your writing. For instance, a classmate once felt overwhelmed by a similar deadline but found that limiting their search to just three core themes made the process significantly faster and less stressful. By focusing on quality over quantity and sticking to a realistic daily schedule, you will produce a strong, well-organized essay that meets all your teacher’s expectations without sacrificing your mental health or other application deadlines.
