How can I structure paragraphs with topic and concluding sentences with dysgraphia?

essay-writing ▲ 1 30 views 2026-08-24

I have a 1500-word argumentative essay due in ten days for my English 101 class, and the rubric insists each paragraph must start with a clear topic sentence and end with a concluding sentence. Because of my dysgraphia, I often lose track of the logical flow and end up with jumbled paragraphs that don't meet the formatting rules. I've tried using a template, but the instructor says I still need to improve the internal organization. Could someone suggest strategies or tools that work with my disability to help me meet the paragraph structure requirements?

Try using color-coding to visually map out your paragraphs before you start writing so you can easily spot if a sentence strays from your main point. For instance, you might highlight every topic sentence in yellow, your evidence in green, and your concluding sentences in pink to check that the structure actually matches what the rubric asks for. This works well with dysgraphia because it shifts the task from trying to keep track of abstract logic in your head to working with distinct, manageable visual blocks that you can physically move around. If you notice a pink sentence doesn't cleanly wrap up the yellow thesis of that specific paragraph, you'll know right away it needs a rewrite before you submit.
