Discussion section depth for radiology residency journal?

thesis-dissertation ▲ 1 7 views 2026-10-08

I'm a PGY-2 resident preparing a case report for our departmental journal, and I'm unsure how much comparative literature is expected versus a simple clinical summary. My attending mentioned that the discussion should contextualize our findings within recent meta-analyses, but I don't know if that level of rigor is standard for resident-authored publications or if I'm overthinking it.
