What is an example of a journal based in China which "warns authors that they are not affiliated with any paper-selling companies"?

One currently available example is 《医学新知》 / New Medicine. Its site identifies it as a Wuhan-based medical journal sponsored by Wuhan University Zhongnan Hospital, with CN 42-1220/R; the contact page gives a Wuhan, Hubei address.

In a 14 June 2022 notice, 关于假冒我刊进行非法活动的严正声明, the journal says authors had reported illegal intermediaries, agencies, and individuals impersonating the editorial office, contacting authors on WeChat, and promising manuscript revision and proxy publication services. The notice says the journal accepts manuscripts only through its own manuscript system, does not accept agent-submitted manuscripts, and has no cooperation with any organization or individual for solicitation, commissioned submissions, ghostwriting, or brokered publication services.

This is not necessarily one of the journals behind Hvistendahl's 2013 sentence, since the notice is from 2022. But it is a current official example of a China-based journal making that kind of warning. The terms used there, such as 论文中介, 代理机构, and 代写代发论文, are closer to manuscript intermediaries/agencies and ghostwriting or proxy-publication services than to sellers of physical paper.

I've managed to find another example of a Chinese journal that explicitly warns authors about paper-selling companies. The journal, 《中国农学通报》 / Chinese Agricultural Science Bulletin, is a bi-weekly publication sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). On their website, they have a clear statement on their homepage in Chinese that roughly translates to: "Note: Do not be deceived by agents claiming to be representatives of the journal, as we do not cooperate with any organization or individual for commissioned submissions, ghostwriting, or brokered publication services." Their official website also has a dedicated page for "Preventing manuscript fraud" ( in Chinese) that lists several red flags for authors to watch out for, including unauthorized agents contacting them, promising to revise manuscripts, or guaranteeing publication. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a direct English link to this warning, but it's prominently displayed on their Chinese website.
