Thesis requiring proprietary fonts
I’m currently working on my master’s thesis, in mathematics. My university’s guidelines require the use of Arial Narrow on the cover. Unfortunately this font is proprietary, and I do not have it and can’t use it on my local LaTeX installation. Worse yet, I sent them an email asking for instructions on how to download the Arial Narrow font, for my local LaTeX installation, they told me LaTeX wasn’t allowed.
What should I do? I’m thinking of just ignoring what they wrote on LaTeX not being allowed, because that’s just stupid. However, how can I do the cover without the font, am I screwed?
Update: Since this question got surprisingly popular even after I accepted an answer, I'll send an update. Yesterday when I received the email from administration that "LaTeX wasn't allowed", I immediately sent a reply stating that it's the academic standard for mathematics for decades, and that it made no sense that it wasn't allowed. They responded today, they told me that for the body of the work just to follow my advisor's advice, but follow the norms for the cover (which isn't a solution to my original question, but whatever). Seems like the people who said that they replied "LaTeX is not allowed" to end a conversation were right. Thanks for the replies.
